Materials are central to how our work feels, functions, and endures. At Créé à la main, sourcing is approached with the same care as design and engraving, guided by quality, longevity, and context rather than trends.

Every material we use is selected with an understanding of how it will live within an event, an environment, or a long-term relationship.

Wood & Boards

All of our boards are sourced from North America. We prioritize materials chosen for their durability, character, and ability to age well with use. Grain, weight, and finish are considered carefully so that each piece feels substantial and appropriate within refined settings.

Boards are selected not only for how they look when new, but for how they will wear over time.

Additional Materials

Beyond wood, we work with a range of complementary materials selected thoughtfully based on the demands of each project. These decisions are guided by function, finish, and longevity rather than novelty.

Materials are chosen to support the overall design quietly, allowing the piece to feel cohesive rather than overworked.

Designed to Age Well

We believe good materials should improve with time. Our work is designed to be used, handled, and lived with, not stored away. Finishes are selected to balance protection with a natural feel, allowing pieces to develop character without sacrificing integrity.

This approach supports work that remains relevant beyond a single moment or event.

Studio Control

All materials are prepared, engraved, and assembled in our Connecticut studio. This allows us to evaluate material quality firsthand and ensure consistency across every piece within a project.

By keeping sourcing and production closely connected, we are able to make thoughtful adjustments and maintain a cohesive standard from start to finish.

A Considered Standard

We do not chase materials for the sake of novelty. Our sourcing reflects a belief that restraint, consistency, and quality create work that feels complete and intentional.

The goal is not to overwhelm, but to choose well.
